We like to move it!!

Or should I say dig it. We had a busy day today and Brittney and Blaine had a blast. We started the morning around 9am by getting the shovels (kid size) and wheel barrow at the nursery. We loaded the wheel barrow down with bulbs and headed to the bed on the side of the road where the nursery sign is. Our first goal was to remove all the dead annuals from spring and get a few weeds that had snuck into the sides of the bed. The kids worked hard at doing this. Then they got to do the fun part of digging the holes. It was amazing to see how much they could do with those little shovels. The wheel barrow maybe small but they overfilled it three times. When I would step in to help and finish getting the hole ready for the bulbs they would get so aggravated. At the end of the day we were all tired and we will now anxiously wait for spring to come and bring to us blooms of the crocus, hyacinth, daffodil and tulip bulbs we planted. Of course Mike wanted to know if we measured and made sure everything was right... well of course I stood back and the kids counted out the bulbs and tossed them in the hole. I assure you these will be some of the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen... if the squirrels do not discover them. Enjoy the pictures below!!

I had already pulled them all up not thinking how fun that thought would be.

I hope they do not wet the bed tonight after all the bottled waters they drank. Check out that wheelbarrow and in this picture they are putting the dirt back it was over the top.
Got to pack the dirt back down
Break time...these were their second apples that Papa brought them. Apparently they gave them renewed energy. You will love this short video.
And if they didn't then their happy meals did, of course so much hard work deserves a happy meal!!

Blaine do not stand up in the wheel barrow.... it will fall over!!
I will finish off with some more of Blaine's famous pictures on the way to Grammy & Papa's house tonight and end with yet another famous picture of his shoes. I believe we have really got our money out of these!

On a funny thought they kids should be settling in right now to watch the 9pm viewing of Madagascar 2 with Grammy & Papa. They went in their pajamas and I can see them now breaking out into to dance when the music starts. Have a good night and a wonderful day of worship tomorrow!!

Happy Halloween!

We hope everyone had a safe Halloween. Below are some pictures from our day. Sorry to be short and sweet but I want to go get in the bed because I am hoping we have a busy day at the nursery tomorrow. Blaine was Spiderman but just wanted to paint his hair red and really loved it. In fact he said there was enough left over that my Daddy could use some on his hair too, but that did not happen. Brittney was Princess Giselle and may I say the prettiest Princess Giselle I have seen. Brent was the joker but really disappointed that the scars he bought did not work. Although I still thought he looked pretty good and he would not smile for the camera because he said he was being in character. Enjoy and do not forget to set your clocks back tomorrow. Boy do I look forward to that extra hour of sleep that my kids will most likely suck right out of me.

Just some quick pics

These are the pics from Brittney and Blaine helping Daddy decorate his pumpkin on Sunday. He finally gave in after the would not stop whining until he did it. I love the decorations he got from Kirklands last year if anyone ever sees any get them for me. Brittney is my scaredy cat and would probably run if someone made a face and noise at her.

Where does the time go?

Wow, I can not believe it has been over two weeks since I posted. Hopefully soon everyone will be getting back to normal. Brent is doing good with his physical therapy. This week he was supposed to start going twice a week but we (Brent) got the days mixed up and we missed the one on Monday. Last week there was not one day that I did not have one of the little ones at home. Brittney has a bladder infection and Blaine has a sinus infection and two ear infections. The funny thing with Blaine is he had a fever but never complained to me. While we were in the Dr.'s office the Dr. was saying how he had a lot of energy and it was probably just a virus. Then he looked in his left ear. His exact words were "Wow, I really did not expect to see that in there it is really gross." I had already told him Blaine was not a complainer but I guess he did not understand me.

On Saturday we had a pretty good day at the nursery. We got some new customers and we are always thrilled when we get repeat customers. We have been trying hard not to think about our neighbors who drive right past us to get their stuff somewhere else...LOL!! The pictures below are from the nursery the Saturday before.

How cool Blaine went to take a pic of the camellia and a bee flew in. We have sold almost all of the double blooming knockout roses. My questions is why do I not have one of these at my house?

Brent went to the homecoming dance on Saturday. It was a cute group of kids. Below are some pictures I took before they left.

The one in the green dress was actually the homecoming queen. Emily smiling on her way to the Limo.

Brent and Emily in the limo. They get to play DJ.

The rest of the limo. I am assuming Emily is thinking what have I got myself into at the point. When did the homecoming dance become such a big deal. Beautiful dresses and limos... WOW!!

Well I am off to do laundry and will try to do better from now on at posting!! Hope all is going well with you and yours!

Neat story

Today I had just got back from taking Brent to PT when Cathy called and said there was a lady dying to buy some pansies at the nursery. So of course I got my shoes on and went up there. The neat part is that I had sent out an email with the pictures of my pansies which you all got and someone had forwarded to these people. I do not even know the person who had forwarded it but they drove all the way from High Point to buy 4 trays of pansies. She said the pictures were what made her drive that far because they were so different from your usual pansies. When they went to pay though the daughter had locked her keys in the car so I got to spend a little extra time with Karen and Frances. Karen home schools her fifth grade son so we had quite a bit to talk about while they waited for Triple A to unlock the car. I just thought that was neat that because of a simple email I got some new customers!!

Pansy pics

This AM I stopped to take a few pictures of the pansies. Sorry they are not the best because of all the rain we have had and also I stopped before the dew had time to dry this morning. Also I tried mainly to take pictures of the different pansies but we still have the standards. If you know anyone who needs any please send them my way!!
You can click the picture to see a larger view!

The one on the left is light purple violas and the one on the right is clear blue pansies. My camera did not do the pansies justice. Do not forget Violas in your plantings because they will bloom in colder weather than the pansies.

The orange is what Blaine put in our box for the back deck since it one of his favorite colors. he also put some purple violas. I can not wait to take some pics of it once it starts to fill in. I think I may do me a pot of the orange and black pansies for Halloween. I forgot to get a picture of the black ones...oops!

More of those powerful violas!!

I can not wait to see what this purple cabbage grow!

The ones on the left are awesome. Sorry about the bad picture. The ones on the right have a light purple wing. Really pretty!
Just one of the pretty perennials we have to plant!
