Whoa! What a day!

Spring is here! People are ready for planting and we are ready for them. Today we had an awesome day at the nursery. We had good friends bring their kids and they dyed eggs and had an egg hunt. Mike was good at selling as always because he is like a walking encyclopedia on plants. I am going to have to make me flash cards so I can remember all that stuff on shrubs and trees. In my spare time next week I think I will do that. Yeah right!

I do have to vent to all my good friends and family though... Mike and I have really nice stuff at our nursery and we still are just not good enough for some people. Last fall I had a really snooty couple come in and look at my pansies. They then left my nursery and went to another "high class" nursery and bought the exact same thing. Do you want to know how I know it is the exact same thing? It is because we order from the same supplier as places like LA Reynolds and New Garden nursery but we just sale them at a more reasonable price. Some people just think that paying more at some high society place means it is better I guess. OK, now that I have said that I feel much better. Lord forgive me for being so ticked by this!

Well I am off to start doing my "EB" duties and get to bed so I can be at church by 6:15 in the AM. I hope you all have a Happy Easter and remember what Jesus did for us. If Jesus is not your Saviour, Easter would be a great time to ask Him to be!!!!!

Tulips

OK, I stopped on the way home from church and was not really prepared to get good pictures. I did not bring anything to sit in or on and the only spot Brittney found to sit was not the best for pictures. Enjoy!

Blaine was in the back of Brittney's first few photos b/c he kept telling me to take a picture of him pretending to plant a tree.

Piggy backing and chicken

I know I have your attention now!! We have been busy working the greenhouse and I have been a bad parent and really have not taken any pictures lately either. I have this really nice camera that Daddy gave me but b/c it is big I do not get it out as often. Now I know that does not make any sense but it is my story and I am sticking to it.

It is almost time to start planting flowers and I am so excited. It is not only because I am looking forward to selling at the nursery but I like to plant my own flowers and the kids really enjoy it. Luckily we are enjoying all the fall bulbs that the kids planted. I am going to (I just deleted "try") get the camera out and take some pictures of the kids with the tulips, daffodils and hyacinths. They really are beautiful and I have never, ever had tulips come up and bloom like these have....WOW!!

We purchased ladybugs to release in the greenhouse because they eat any bad insects that may decide to hang around. It was really fun releasing them with the kids. Blaine was putting them in his pockets and they were crawling all over him. Brittney was saying how she wanted to touch them but she was scared, so basically she stood back and squealed. So today at the greenhouse Brittney is admiring the ladybugs and talking about how much they are enjoying living in their new home. She then tells me to look and says "This one is giving another one a piggy back ride." We all know piggy back rides are a true measure of happiness...LOL!!!

Telling you that story reminds me of how Brittney's cat Bella went into heat a few months ago. Blaine had waited for Brittney to go to sleep and had snuck into to my room. The cat keep meowing and I was telling Blaine to leave her alone but he was just giggling. Well I was getting mad so I sat up to really scald him and saw Tiger biting Bella trying to get a "piggyback ride" and I realized what was going on and out he went. Well that weekend Blaine is staying with Mama and he tells her that Tiger thinks Bella tastes like chicken. You know kids really are a blessing because we could not come up with this kind of clean entertainment on our own!!

Here are some pictures I have. The nursery pictures were made with a cell phone and the other pictures are some of Blaine's. ENJOY!!

Mike did the Southern Ideal Home Show even though I was hesitant about it BUT it looks like it is going to pay off. Thank you GOD!!

I think he gave me the camera to take the one above.

Self portrait!!
