VBS is really wearing my kids out. They went to sleep on their own tonight in the living room.

Fun, fun, fun

We got to go for a short trip to the beach with Mama & Daddy. We did not arrive at the beach until about 2AM on Saturday. Really all we did was swim, eat, swim and sleep and I forgot shop between one of the swim and eats. Here are some pics from the trip. I do not have that many good ones b/c I forgot my other picture card. I am sure Daddy got some good ones and as soon as I get them I will post them.

Blaine sleeping on the way to the beach.
Those $1.50 ducks were a good investment.
Brent sleeping Saturday morning. Sleeping is what he did most of his trip and text messaging the other half....teens!
My camera lens was fogged up from coming out of the air conditioner.

Blaine walked off into the 8 ft end with his "Duckie" and then came his famous "but Mom I am OK" He thought he could swim with it.

Brittney was swimming under water pretty good this time
Just think in a blink of an eye they will Brent's age and it will no longer be fun to just hang out at the pool with Mom~

They love the beach!

Daddy taking pictures as usual
Their cautiousness with the ocean is gone. Wide open all the way
The next few sets of pictures below I was trying out the high shutter speed on the camera I was using. It was neat. Blaine is only ahead of Brittney b/c he did not run all the way up before running back to the beach.

I missed them them the day before when the waves were actually flipping them over. We had walked to the beach around 8 with no intention to get in and ended up swimming for over an hour. In order to get them to come up I told them there was a rule that kids under 8 had to go up at that precise moment...whatever time it was.

Blaine took this picture of his lap at the restaurant
So sad we are heading home!
Who is ready to go back with us?

Brave heart

NOT!! Brent ordered the brave heart wings at Wild Wings in Myrtle Beach on our way home on Monday. Well he ate two before he could not eat anymore. It should not have been so funny but it was. He was holding his mouth open and not saying anything as we all stared at him. Then he looks to his tea glass which is empty and instead of drinking one of the waters sitting around he asked Brittney for a swallow of his tea. This picture says it all... Brittney said he looks like a baby.

Since he is not going to be able to eat the hot wings he decided to order a side of macaroni and cheese. The waitress also brought him two glasses of tea to help put the fire out.
His nose finally stopped running but his hand started shaking. I think next time he may think twice before he eats the wings with a disclaimer on them.

In Memory of PaPa

We got to the hospital on Wednesday June 11th just as my Papa passed away. As soon as we stepped on the elevator I got the phone call from Mama. After we got off the elevator I took the time to praise the Lord with my kids that Papa was now with the ultimate healer. He would no longer be in any kind of pain. When we arrived on the 9th floor I let the kids make their own decisions if they wanted to go where his body was. Of course Brent went back there b/c he had already done the same thing when his Aunt Dotty passed away. Brittney went back and was at peace with his body being there and him being in heaven. Blaine came on later - he told Mama he wanted to go back there b/c he thought God was back there. Mama took him back and then when he came out he said "I think I missed God b/c he was gone." Thank the Lord that all my kids know about Jesus and our ultimate goal in life or this could have been harder than it was. We also learned the wonderful news that my Papa had rededicated his life to Jesus about six months ago with an employee of the town. Thank you Lord that the Holy Spirit led this man to have this hard talk with my Papa.
