Neat story
Today I had just got back from taking Brent to PT when Cathy called and said there was a lady dying to buy some pansies at the nursery. So of course I got my shoes on and went up there. The neat part is that I had sent out an email with the pictures of my pansies which you all got and someone had forwarded to these people. I do not even know the person who had forwarded it but they drove all the way from High Point to buy 4 trays of pansies. She said the pictures were what made her drive that far because they were so different from your usual pansies. When they went to pay though the daughter had locked her keys in the car so I got to spend a little extra time with Karen and Frances. Karen home schools her fifth grade son so we had quite a bit to talk about while they waited for Triple A to unlock the car. I just thought that was neat that because of a simple email I got some new customers!!

Pansy pics
This AM I stopped to take a few pictures of the pansies. Sorry they are not the best because of all the rain we have had and also I stopped before the dew had time to dry this morning. Also I tried mainly to take pictures of the different pansies but we still have the standards. If you know anyone who needs any please send them my way!!
You can click the picture to see a larger view!

The one on the left is light purple violas and the one on the right is clear blue pansies. My camera did not do the pansies justice. Do not forget Violas in your plantings because they will bloom in colder weather than the pansies.

The orange is what Blaine put in our box for the back deck since it one of his favorite colors. he also put some purple violas. I can not wait to take some pics of it once it starts to fill in. I think I may do me a pot of the orange and black pansies for Halloween. I forgot to get a picture of the black ones...oops!

I can not wait to see what this purple cabbage grow!

The ones on the left are awesome. Sorry about the bad picture. The ones on the right have a light purple wing. Really pretty!
Just one of the pretty perennials we have to plant!

Cold, cold go away
Well I went back to the Dr. on Thursday and on top of my bronchitis I had a sinus infection. They put me on a stronger antibiotic and I am still waiting for it to really kick in. The month of September has seemed nonexistent for me. At the beginning my Nanny passes away and then Brent has his surgery and I have been sick the past couple weeks too. It is amazing to me that it is almost over.
We had an awesome day yesterday because the youth group from church came over. They are such a good, fun group of kids with awesome leaders. We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did. Mike vacuumed before they came and I enjoyed that. I will have to remember to tell his Daddy b/c I always see him vacuuming and tell I wish Mike would do it.
Today Brent goes back to the Dr. for his post op visit. I am not sure if they will take the staples out today or not. Also Brittney goes on her first field trip today and when they sent home the form Brent's post op visit had already been set so I was not able to go with her. Most likely it is a good thing but I still do not feel 100% but I am sure it would have been fun and I could have took a lot of pictures. She was really excited about it and I can not wait to hear her tell me about it this afternoon.
This morning I went and took some pictures of my pansies at the nursery. When I unloaded my camera I found a lot of "unique" pictures that the kids had taken, mostly Blaine. There are a couple of Blaine with the kitten that Brittney took. I am going to upload some below. Enjoy!!

Fall is for planting
This fall I am planting some Lenten Roses in my garden. I love at our meals during lent when they have one night when all the tables are adorned with these beauties and I have never had any, mainly because I could never seem to find them. Also I believe I may plant some Echinacea - cone flower - and maybe the ice plant that everyone seems to be so crazy about. Plus I can not forget we have the bulbs coming in and I am definitely going to have a showing of tulips next spring. Of course I have been saying that since we moved in this house 8 years ago. What are you going to do?
Fall has finally arrived. Happy Fall!!

Whew...what a day!!
Brent and I got to the hospital at 1:29 so we still had one minute to spare. Mike had to wait on my pansies to arrive that I had pre-ordered so we could avoid getting on the day of surgery...then the surgery got moved back a day. They were supposed to be delivered between 1 and 2 but they were a little late. Mike, Mama and Cathy got to the hospital before the surgery because they did not take Brent back until 4:20. Before they got there we had a scare. The anesthesiologist had come in to talk to us about the nerve block. Then out of no where he starts talking about the ham string graph and I am getting really nervous because I was not told anything about this. Pastor Don was there with us and the two of us were trying to look like it was no big deal to Brent while we were wondering how in the world were they going to do this with only one incision as the anesthesiologist said. The anesthesiologist went to call the Dr. and when he came back he said it was a donor ham string graph, now that sounds more like it. We all breathed a sigh of relief.
Finally they started the surgery at 4:20 and we all enjoyed a burger from Goody's (I think) from the suggestion of Pastor Don, boy was it good. The Dr. called right after the surgery around 6:15 and said they were going to keep Brent over night for pain management. This time they had to drill holes in the bone to loop the ligaments through to secure them. Last time he was in horrible pain and I thought it was a great idea for the nerve block to wear off there where they could give him some strong meds. Finally they got Brent to his room around 7:30. As soon as I walked into the room I could tell he was upset he was going to have to stay. He kept telling me how he was not in pain and of course he could not recall how bad it was after the last surgery. Well I just talked to him and he said he is using the morphine pump because the nerve block is starting to wear off. As soon as I take the little ones to school in the AM I will be heading to the hospital and hope to bring Brent home by lunch. I sure do hope the pain lets up some by then.

Third time's a charm
Well it is not the third surgery on the same knee but it is the same surgery for the third time. Brent has to be at Medical Park tomorrow at 1:30 and the surgery should begin by 3:30. Please remember him and the medical staff in your prayers. His biggest concern is not getting to eat for so long and is already talking about going through a drive thru on the way home. Be sure to stop by or give him a call to see how he is doing.
